2023 January 22nd – Re-enacting The Hobbit: We Are Going On An Adventure
By admin | |
Today's running scene takes me to Tegg's Nose for my replication of the 'Going on an adventure' run from the Hobbit.
2023 January 22nd – Arriving in Hermsdorf Berlin
By admin | |
Having completed the first stage of The Lord Of The Rings Virtual Challenge, I thought it would be a good idea to take a quick run along the virtual Berlin Wall. This was a much shorter challenge of 48.3km and I managed to completed the run in 3 days.
2023 January 19th – Arriving in Bree

19 Days into my run to Mordor and I have arrived in Bree.
2023 January 15th – Re-enacting Rocky
By admin | |
The third of the running scenes takes me to Tatton Park for the steps outside Tatton Hall. These are for the re-enactment of the 'Rocky Steps' scene with the 72 stone steps leading up to the entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The filming of this scene was done on the second attempt after making my way down to the Tatton Park gardens the week earlier only to find that they had closed up 20 minutes earlier.
2023 January 8th – Re-enacting Chariots Of Fire
By admin | |
For the re-enactment of the 'Chariots of Fire' running scene I headed down to Southport beach. While the sunset looks fantastic, the weather conditions were somewhat different. A barefoot run in icy cold waters at the start of January wasn't the smartest thing I did today, and that's not mentioning the blustery winds and the running on shells that pierced into my feet as I strode across the beach. While I was absolutely frozen by the time the filming was completed, it was a great day and Lexi (my pooch) loved the day out to the beach too.
2023 January 1st – And So It Begins

My 2023 new year's challenge... Running to Mordor! 1815 miles (2820 km) starting at Hobbiton in the Shire, through middle earth, and straight to Mount Doom!
2023 January 1st – The First Steps
By admin | |
A five mile round walk into Holmes Chapel, stopping off along Hermitage Lane to take in the views of Jodrell Bank in the distance. It was a nice new years day walk to clear the head from the previous nights celebrations and at a more sedate pace compared to the exertions planned for the weeks and months ahead.
2023 January 1st – Re-enacting Forest Gump
By admin | |
The Forest Gump scene was chosen as I thought that it was an iconic running scene that started an Epic run. I'm not sure I will match the 3 years, 2 months, 14 days, and 16 hours that Forest Gump ran for, but the road ahead is long for me and I have one hell of a distance to cover to complete my challenge.
