The third of the running scenes takes me to Tatton Park for the steps outside Tatton Hall. These are for the re-enactment of the 'Rocky Steps' scene with the 72 stone steps leading up to the entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The filming of this scene was done on the second attempt after making my way down to the Tatton Park gardens the week earlier only to find that they had closed up 20 minutes earlier.
Outside the entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art there is a statue of Rocky today. I don't think there will be a bronze statue of me outside Tatton Hall in 40 years time though. The Tatton Park Gardens are part of the National Trust site that spans more than 50 acres, with a further 1,000 acres of landscaped parkland surrounding the gardens which are great for walks and runs. My run was limited to the Tatton Hall steps on this occasion.
Dressed in an old hoody that had been demoted to DIY clothes status and one of the endless supply of woolly hats accumulated from Christmas presents of past years I headed up the steps. Luckily the filming was completed with just three runs up and down the steps, I am not sure I could have managed much more having hit the gym before heading out to Tatton Park.
